  • TWO HUNDRED 2x4s, 8 feet long
  • ONE HUNDRED 2x4s, 10 feet long
  • FIFTY 2x4s, 12 feet long
  • TWENTY-FIVE 2x6s, 8 feet long
  • TEN 4x4s, 10 feet long
  • ONE ROLL of roofing felt
  • TWENTY-FIVE sheets of corrugated metal roofing
  • TEN metal roofing ridge caps
  • ONE HUNDRED 3-inch deck screws
  • FIFTY 4-inch deck screws
  • TWENTY 6-inch lag bolts
  • TEN 1/4-inch x 4-inch carriage bolts
  • TEN 1/4-inch x 4-inch nuts and washers
  • ONE tube of silicone caulk
  • ONE gallon of exterior paint
  • ONE roll of landscape fabric
  • Clear and level the area where you want to build your shed.
  • Dig four post holes, each TWO FEET deep and ONE FOOT in diameter.
  • Set the FOUR 4×4 posts in the holes, making sure they are level and plumb.
  • Fill the holes with concrete and let it cure for 24 HOURS.
  • Cut the TWO HUNDRED 2x4s to the desired height of your shed walls.
  • Assemble the wall frames using 3-INCH DECK SCREWS.
  • Make sure the frames are square and level.
  • Attach the TWENTY-FIVE 2x6s to the outside of the wall frames using 4-INCH DECK SCREWS.
  • Make sure the sheathing is flush with the top of the wall frames.
  • Cut the ONE HUNDRED 2x4s to the desired length for your roof rafters.
  • Assemble the roof trusses using 3-INCH DECK SCREWS.
  • Make sure the trusses are square and level.
  • Attach the roof trusses to the top of the wall frames using 6-INCH LAG BOLTS.
  • Install the roofing felt over the roof trusses.
  • Attach the corrugated metal roofing to the roof trusses using 1/4-INCH X 4-INCH CARRIAGE BOLTS.
  • Install the metal roofing ridge caps.
  • Cut out the openings for the door and windows in the wall frames.
  • Install the door and windows using the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Paint or stain the shed to protect it from the elements.
  • Add landscaping around the shed to improve its appearance.
